Who We Are

Conscious Revolution provides holistic support to expand and deepen leadership consciousness through coaching, unique community experiences, and organizational consulting.

The strategies, tools, processes, and methods we use are designed to initiate change at an individual and organization’s foundation and create sustainable momentum for leaders to achieve their goals and transform their organization.

What We Value

We Are Human

We are human first and foremost. To be human, you need space, laughter, boundaries, humility, and connection. We incorporate our humanity into our work with clients.

We Build Courage

We build courage to say what needs to be said. We respect our own and others boundaries and always speak our truth.

We Question the Norm

We question the norm and build a new way. We know that we can’t build new systems using the same thinking. We are aware of the trap of binary thinking.

We Cultivate Curiosity

We cultivate curiosity and love learning. We value many perspectives and know there are many sides to the story. We look for the lessons in the mistakes and always see potential in every situation.

We Honor Our Commitments

We honor our commitments and are flexible to change when circumstances shift. We only commit when we’re sure. We do what we say, and we say what we mean.

We Seek Joy

We seek joy in everything we do. Changing the world is a joyful endeavor! We find opportunities to celebrate and honor each other and laugh, connect and have fun with one another.

Meet Our Team

As a team we are dedicated to elevating our own conscious leadership. Our personal learning informs our holistic conscious leadership approach. Through transformative experiences, coaching, and hands-on support and consultation, we influence you to think differently, learning to rely on your own instincts.

  • I’ve got a couple of things I’m doing that I’d call my life’s joy (formerly called life’s work). Being a mom to my two kids gives me a chance to directly influence two people that will do great things in this beautiful, chaotic, wild world. Yes!

My life’s joy is also helping leaders build inspiring organizations that they love. There’s no better way to spend precious life time! The unique organizations we create together impact so many people for the better.

I have been told I’m a catalyst for transformation. To do this work I have a commitment to be awake in every aspect of my life, a commitment to equity and abundance, and a vow to be content in being both polished and a messy work in progress.

Witty things make me laugh. Kindred spirits fill me up. I love the sky, trees and water. Ask me to travel, sing, dance, hike, or see live music and I’m immediately in. Skiing and camping are a blast once you’ve started but the prep almost makes me not want to go. Someday I’ll be deeply settled in my body and soul and helping others to do the same.

And yeah, I have all those credentials one typically needs to be declared legit. Twenty-five plus wisdom-building years grinding it out as a global HR leader; Undergrad in Human Resources, Masters in Organizational Development & Leadership, Certifications galore. In 2019, I became one of the world’s first Certified Conscious Capitalism Consultants.

Our work together will fill everyone, including us, with joy and inspiration. Yes, we can do that! Yes, that’s what we are doing! Join us!

  • As the Conscious Revolution Virtual Assistant, I approach all aspects of my role with a positive mindset and strive to help manage the day-to-day needs. Supporting the team to do such important work brings me incredible joy.

I have 6 years of administrative experience and a bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Missouri.

Outside of work, I am a wife and a mother to three young boys and enjoy adventuring and experiencing life with my family.

  • I’ve been on a 25 plus year professional journey to Conscious Revolution, where I feel a “full body yes” to our purpose, mission and values. I started my career as a special education teacher in the Rio Grande Valley because I was compelled to do something concrete and proactive to advance social justice and teaching felt like one of the most direct ways to respond to this calling. My experience teaching and then coaching other teachers ignited a fire in my belly around the need for systems change within and beyond education. This led me into a variety of leadership roles in national nonprofits that partnered with school systems working towards educational equity and interested in redesigning their practices so that all students can thrive. After having the opportunity to work with leaders in schools and school systems across the country for more than a decade, I got to work in my community where my own children attend school in what we now call Portland, Maine. Portland Public Schools is the largest and most diverse school district in the state of Maine. I first partnered with the district to write the strategic plan and then went on to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and as interim Co-Superintendent. In all of my roles I have gravitated towards organizational culture and people development work and have found that I feel authentic building and leading teams towards meaningful goals. I believe that positional leadership calls for deep listening, humility, love and a commitment to growing self-awareness as a constant practice. I am ever aspiring to live in alignment with these commitments. As it’s useful to know, I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Africana Studies from Bowdoin College and a Masters of Education in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, (which I received on a social entrepreneurship fellowship through the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School). I also have various certifications, primarily in the field of education.

My work is an expression of my personal values and I also feel grateful to have a full life outside of my work. I am the mom to two boys and a dog (and I have a (very funny) husband too). I practice meditation and/or yoga daily (and am a trained trauma-informed yoga teacher and used to teach in the youth detention center as a part of a yoga service nonprofit I co-founded). I’m usually reading a minimum of three books (one spiritual, one professional, one mystery). And as a true extrovert (getting more introverted with age though) I love to be with good friends, preferably over a tasty meal or near the water.

My role at Conscious Revolution is to expand our ability to support leaders and organizations in the education sector, in addition to collaborating with the team to support clients across all contexts. I have great respect for all leaders charged with transformational change in their institutions, and I have an especially deep empathy for educational leaders in these unprecedented times. I believe that courageous leaders ask for help and I am so honored to be able to partner with our clients to offer our support.

  • My name is Margot - I love walking by the ocean with my husband, learning new things alongside my 3 kids, the smell of a campfire, getting my hands dirty in the garden, creating art, and making soup without recipes. I am a 3rd generation New Yorker, and have been building community for over 20 years in what is now called Portland, Maine. I have a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Bates College and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine and am licensed as a clinical social worker, with my practice rooted in radical social change strategies for structural transformation and community justice.

For fifteen years, I was the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director at Maine Inside Out (MIO), where I co-created an innovative transformative justice organization implementing a sustainability framework, strategic plan, and operational oversight with a commitment to non-traditional governance models and shared leadership values. Over the years and previous to my work at MIO, I have been part of community based movements for social change from grassroots farming collectives focused on food sovereignty to large scale political campaigns intended to shift outdated systems. I’ve also worked as a leader and coalition builder at various non profits and in school based settings in the areas of houselessness, incarceration, legal rights, the arts, youth resiliency, and alternatives to suspension and expulsion. I have also been an advocate and thought partner inside government systems focused on systemic changes that move towards inclusivity and responsiveness to all. I’ve been a member of countless local committees and coalitions as well as nominated to sit on government advisory groups. In all environments - grassroots to government - and in all relationships - I hold steady on a path that is driven by a desire to build a more interconnected and equitable world. As a leader and collaborator, I bring a strong racial justice movement orientation to all of my work and strive to create a culture of integrity and trust across diverse teams of people, where all can feel confident to build meaningful relationships, be autonomous and collaborative, make mistakes, and learn and grow personally and collectively.

At Conscious Revolution, I am answering a call to co-create and support the Conscious Leadership Community - with the aim to creatively engage leaders and changemakers across sectors to accelerate progress toward personal healing, organizational change, and systemic and cultural transformation. I have personally been on a twenty five year journey that recognizes the inextricable link between inner work and its outer personal, professional and systemic manifestations, and look forward to being in community with others at all points of their journeys who share this recognition and commitment. I will also be working with non profit partners on higher purpose, values, and organizational design, and to support those that I am fortunate to work with to find the greatest alignment of their organizational purpose and values and to build practices and structures that create, nourish, and uphold the culture, community and world desired to live and work in.

  • I am a multilingual HR Professional who loves to travel, visit new places, and try new foods with my family. My professional experience covers more than a decade and crosses a variety of industries including the international oil industry, financial services sector, manufacturing, and advertising. I am passionate about helping organizations maximize their resources with forward thinking and progressive HR practices that promote strong sustainable communities. I bring an international, cross-cultural perspective to everything I do and I am excited to use my expertise in HR to connect with clients and help them achieve their potential.

Of the many hats I wears, my favorite is being a mother to my two children. I enjoy seeing the world through their eyes. I love spending the day at the beach watching them play. I love cooking, music, dancing and one of my guilty pleasures is watching telenovelas. Family brought me to New England and after living in a couple of other states I know Maine is where I wants to stay and raise my family.

  • I have an affinity for seeing the joy in people when they make connections in whatever they’re seeking answers to. I look very serious, but I have a goofy side, and at least my oldest daughter can appreciate it. (not my youngest daughter so much) I appreciate a good sense of humor and speak sarcasm fluently. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is my birth home. New York City raised me, and now, as a military family traveling all over the USA, Colorado is where we are building our new community. I am Congolese-American, a term I learned as an adult that I can't identify with. I am struggling to write about myself because I find it so daunting. However, I do understand why it is essential for others to understand why I am in this space. I have two incredible daughters who teach me daily what freedom and free spirits look like. Through their world, I am constantly evolving and learning. I am married to a cool guy who loves cooking and fishing, and I love everything else but fishing, especially for our travel plans.

As a Congolese-American immigrant, my lived experience in the United States has fueled my passion for developing safe spaces and facilitating conversations about equity and belonging. In my past life, I worked in various positions in human resources in for-profit, non-profit, and government spaces. I stepped away from the workspace to be a stay-at-home mom, and now I am back on the journey of creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and have a sense of belonging. I hold a bachelor's in management and soon a master's in organizational leadership. I greatly appreciate creating spaces of belonging and difficult conversations with diverse perspectives. The goal is not to get it right; it is to make mistakes and adjust; that is the process of humanness. I am a student of cultural understanding, its intersections with our identities, and how that can help us build community. On this journey, I found Conscious Revolution, a space where I can bring my values and vision to fruition among like-minded souls.

  • This was very hard for me to write, which is funny because 1. I have a degree in writing and 2. My favorite kind of writing is autobiographical. But whenever I sat down to write this bio, this public facing piece of myself, I was overcome with fear and indecision. The simple fact that you, dear reader, were going to read this paralyzed me.

I’m sharing this with you because it’s part of what you get when you work with me. I’m a human first and foremost and I bring my humanity to work. I show up wholly and passionately because doing this work, the work of helping leaders create conscious, equitable companies, it’s the work I was born to do.

The deepest part of me lights up when I am helping others. I love your challenges, your problems, your concerns, your fears. I love them because I know that together we can figure them out, conquer them, quell them. My many years of experience as an employee of all stripes coupled with years of acting in an HR capacity leave me uniquely qualified to think with my HR hat and act with my human heart.

When I joined Conscious Revolution in 2021, I was looking for a home that would allow my love of helping others to truly flourish. I’ve found that home.

  • I joined the team in 2022 to help guide Conscious Revolution’s financial growth, impact, and planning as the fractional finance lead. I enjoy working with Conscious Revolution because they are always pushing the norms and challenging me to view financial success through a non-traditional lens.

I’m also the founder of Rise Financial Solutions, a boutique firm offering CFO, accounting, and FP&A consulting services. I started Rise to support business owners and investors with everything from day-to-day accounting to the complexities of M&A, financial modeling, and strategic planning.

Committed to ethical practices, Rise is advancing toward B Corp certification and is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, reflecting a strong focus on sustainable business decisions.

Prior to founding Rise, I worked in a variety of financial roles at organizations including Activision Blizzard, Constellation Brands, and Topgolf and I’m a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of California. Beyond the balance sheets, I enjoy surfing, hiking, and quality moments with my wife and dog, embracing the very lifestyle and environmental values my firm advocates for.
